in the " City of David".

used by King Herod, the pilgrims to the Second Temple and also
by Jesus.

Jerusalem,
the city that was
captured by King David , enlarged by his son Solomon who built the First
Temple, ruled by the Kings of Judah, destroyed by the Babylonians, erected
again by the returning Jews from the Rivers of Babylon , occupied
by the Greeks, liberated by the Maccabees, glorified by King Herod.
The place in which
Jesus preached, had the last supper, was caught,
tried, crucified,
resurrected and ascended to the sky. The
city that was demolished and burned by the Romans, adored by the Byzantines
, taken swiftly by the Moslems, massacred by the Crusaders.

Day 1.
Your tour
will start with a view on Jerusalem from the "Mountain of the Evil Council".
you'll visit the large model of Jerusalem as it was in the time of the
Second Temple and proceed to Yad Vashem the Holocaust Memorial.
Continue to the Israel Museum to view the Dead Sea Scrolls and on to the
old city, were your route takes you through the Jewish Quarter's
Roman/ Byzantine Cardo and The Western Wall. From here we go
to the Temple Mount/ Dome of the Rock and El Aksa Mosque.

Day
2.
A spectacular view from the Mount of Olives will open your
second day in the
holy city while you proceed with a descend through the Holy sites
of Dominus Flevit
Getsemani, on to Mt. Zion, the site of
the last Supper, King David's Tomb and the
Church of the Dormition. wander through the old city, you enter
the colorful and continue to the Via Dolorosa, through the stations of
the Cross to Th. remarkable
Church
of the Holy Sepulcher. You'll sum the day exploring the David's
Tower
Museum and learn about the history of Jerusalem. |
